India::Love

 In November 2012, Amanda is traveling to New Delhi, India with
Children's Hope Chest to explore a long-term partnership between the Good Samaritan School, her readers, and the families that she speaks to.

In India, HopeChest partners with the Friends of the Good Samaritan school.  Rising from the slums, the Good Samaritan school can serve 4,400 students. Schooling in India is not free, and therefore many poor, vulnerable, or orphaned children are unable to attend school. The alternative is begging, prostitution, and forced labor.

Through HopeChest, children from very poor families are given the chance to attend a first-rate, school—one of less than 5 government-recognized Christian schools in Northern India for slum children.

Through sponsorship, children attending the school receive a quality education, approved by the government of India. Graduates of the schools are qualified to apply to any college in India.

Sponsorship also funds one nutritious meal per day. For many, it is the only food they will get the chance to eat. And, the school provides medical care including anti-parasite medications and vitamins. The Good Samaritan School is transforming their lives through education. We are proud that our little princess, Sadie is able to be part of  the redemptive work happening there.
